The new Charlotte Tilbury make up line is taking the world by storm. Keep on reading for find out why ‘Eyes to Mesmerise’ pots are The Pretty Poetic’s January, ‘Product of the Month’.
The first month of 2017 has whizzed by already – I can’t believe it. It seems like only yesterday I was wrapping last minutes Christmas pressies and thinking about what eye-shadow palette to use for my New Year’s Eve make-up look. But, here we are! Another January has come to an end with a fresh new February before us. So, it is time to look back and think about what I would hail as my ‘January Product of the Month.’
Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise £22
Charlotte Tilbury has created brand new eye-shadow products and I am in love. The little glass pots consist of cream eye-shadows that ere on the metallic side and are designed to give you maximum results with minimum effort. Tilbury’s website describes them as being “cream to sheen” and offering the flexibility of high drama or ready in minutes. They can be applied quickly and fuss-free with your fingertips or blended with eye-shadow brushes for a more full on look. The products in Tilbury’s brand are all about ease of use – whilst always looking fabulous – and these little beauties certainly fulfil this promise – Tilbury tells us they are part of her “One Minute No Mirror Make Up” concept. It is the ease of use that has made them my go to product on a daily basis. I love any make up item that can be dressed up or dressed down. They are highly pigmented (so I don’t have to spend ages layering) and glide on beautifully. I have used these on their own and in combination with other powder shadows and they blend wonderfully.
There are six different shades available to suit all different tastes, styles and looks: Jean, Marie Antoinette, Bette, Veruschka, Mona Lisa and Cleopatra. Each shade is named after glamorous women throughout history that Tilbury believes captivated the world – she pays dual homage to the many actresses who played these heroes; such as Elizabeth Taylor famous for her role as Cleopatra. Of the six, Jean, Marie Antoinette, Mona Lisa, and Bette, fall into the subtle gold and mauve shades. Meanwhile Veruschka and Cleopatra offer something for the more the more daring of us out there: Veruschka is described as a “mossy green” and Cleopatra a, “vibrant peacock.” My two favourite shades are ‘Marie Antoinette’ (after the infamous Queen of France) and ‘Jean’ (in homage to the late Marilyn Monroe). The first is described as an “antique oyster gold hue” and the latter a stunning, “sparkling pink-champagne”.
Overall, these little lovelies are a winner in my book. I can make them super glam for nights on the town or, I can quickly swish them on for my day-to-day and be out the door with eyes that still pop and sparkle. They might be a little pricey for some but they are worth every penny: a Charlotte Tilbury must have!
