The launch of the new Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in the shade, “Pillow-Talk” has set the beauty world alight. But, is this new addition to the Tilbury line up really worth the hype?
Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks
Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are something I am a big fan of. The shade range is extensive and the consistencies are creamy, blend-able whilst still having good pigmentation. I’m also a big fan of the “Lip Cheat” lip liners which are really easy to use and glide on well – they offer no messy, smudgy lines and do a good job of adding definition to the lips without being OTT.
Now, when it comes to lipsticks I absolutely adore nude and pink tones lipsticks – I do lack an adventurous side when it comes to lippie. However, as such I have tried a variety of what Team Tilbury have to offer: “Bitch Perfect,” “Penelope pink,” “Nude Kate,” “Kim KW,” “Very Victoria,” “Hepburn Honey,” and now, “Pillow Talk”. I love all of these shades and despite being from the same tone range they all offer something different.
Despite loving all of these colours I in fact finding myself often using the “Pillow Talk” lip liner (on its own) to shade my entire lip instead of an actual lipstick – I love the colour so much! After popping this on I would add a dash of, “Lip Lustre” in “Blondie” and be out the door. This was fast becoming a staple in my daily routine and I couldn’t shake it. So, when the announcement came that the brand were releasing a lipstick in this particular shade I couldn’t contain my excitement – I had to have it.
I had such high expectations for this product and I was praying that this it wouldn’t disappoint. I was wishing and hoping that it would live up to the standards of my now beloved lip liner and I am thrilled to say it did!
Pillow Talk Lipstick
This lipstick is amazing! In all honesty, I think it is the best nude lipstick I have ever come across and it is officially my favourite! Like it’s matching liner the hue is subtle but still looks like I have a little colour and glow. It looks natural; like my own lips, only better. It’s a matte formula and part of the Tilbury “Matte Revolution” range. What is also interesting about this product is that the colour mixture makes your lips appear plumper and fuller without the need for any messy lip plumping cream, serums or glossies. On her website Charlotte states that:
This gorgeous nude-y pink mimics and enhances the natural hue of your lips, so you can CHEAT a perfect pillow-y pout in seconds.”
The inclusion of the “soothing orchid and Lipstick Tree extracts” are what make the lips look “fuller and wider” whilst simultaneously making them feel soft and appear youthful. The lipstick retails at £24.00 and the lip cheat at £18.00. This is pricier that your typical high street products but, I really think the quality of this product makes it worth it. An added bonus is that the lipstick comes in the signature golden, ribbed casing with the brand logo emblazoned on the end. It’s elegant, chic and makes a beautiful addition to any make-up bag or dressing table.
